THE PRESENTATION Of YOUR ITEM/S

1. Only Show the Item/s that you are Selling in your Listing.

If you show other Items they will distract potential Buyers and can cause confusion and misunderstanding of what is on offer in your Listing.

2. Ensure that your Item/s in your Photographs are not too small or distant.

You should try to make your Item/s approx. 80% of the Photograph Area and not have a large amount of wasted background border space.

3. Make your Item/s be as Clear as Possible with Good Lighting.

Poor lighting and shadows will give potential Buyers a bad impression of your Item/s.

Use as much Daylight as possible as this enhances your item’s details. Avoid using any lamps or lighting which can alter, change or obscure your Item/s true colours and give a false impression of the Item in real life.

4. Fill approx. 80% of the area of your Photographs with your Item/s and have a Neutral Background.

Ensure that your Item/s are using approx. 80% of the Photograph area and that the Background is as neutral, unfussy and contrasting as possible.

Smaller Item/s should be placed on top of and/or in front of a piece of plain paper or cardboard for the background of your Photograph.

SHOWING ALL SIDES OF YOUR ITEM/S

Show all Sides of your Item/s.

Take clear Photographs of several angles of your Item/s so that potential Buyers can see the style, colour, patterns and condition of all sides of the Item/s you are selling.

SHOW ANY DAMAGE OR WEAR AND TEAR ON YOUR ITEM/S

Show any Damage or Wear & Tear on your Item/s.

Take clear Close-Up Photographs of any Damage, Scuffs, Missing Parts or Worn Areas of your Item/s so that potential Buyers can see the the real true and accurate condition of the Item/s you are selling.

SHOW A NEUTRAL POINT OF REFERENCE

Show a Common Object as a comparison to scale your Item/s.

When your Item/s are Small, of Unusual Shape, or are a Scale Model of Larger Identical Item/s, it is a very good idea to photograph a common object, such as a coin, or a measuring rule, beside your Item/s to give a reference of scale.

SHOW IDENTIFICATION DETAIL

Show any Identification or Defining Features of your Item/s.

Potential Buyers look closely for any ways of assessing the authenticity and realness of Objects and will pay a higher price if you can provide such proof.

For this reason you should provide Close-Up photographs of any Hallmarks, Markings, Stamps, Signatures, Serial numbers, Autographs, Tags and Labels.

SHOW ALL OF YOUR ITEMS

Show all of your Items, even if classed as a Set.

When you are selling Multiple Items in your Listing, you should show ALL of the Items grouped together in one of your Pictures, whether or not you class the Items as a single Set.

Do not presume that Potential Buyers will know what is included in a 'Set of Items' that you are selling, as often they may not be aware of all of the individual Items that they would be acquiring.

Showing all of your Items side by side can very well make the difference between the Potential Buyer Bidding or not.
